BM SERIES · SEMI-GANTRY CRANE SYSTEM
BM Semi-Gantry Crane
Flexible Lifting Coverage with One-Side Building Support
The BM semi-gantry crane combines an elevated building-supported runway on one side with a ground-running gantry leg on the other.
This hybrid arrangement can provide efficient lifting coverage along workshop edges, production bays, covered areas and industrial sites where a full overhead crane or complete gantry structure is not the most suitable solution.
Capacity, span, lifting height, runway elevation and ground-rail interfaces are configured around the building and operating requirements.
CAPACITY
1–20 t
CRANE SPAN
5–20 m
LIFTING HEIGHT
6–18 m / Custom

HYBRID SUPPORT CONFIGURATION
Use the Building on One Side and Ground Support on the Other
A semi-gantry crane uses an elevated runway on one side and a ground-level runway beneath the gantry leg on the other.
This arrangement can extend lifting coverage along a workshop wall, production bay or building edge while reducing the need for a complete two-leg gantry structure.
The elevated runway, ground rail, bridge alignment and wheel loads must be reviewed as one coordinated system.
- One elevated building-supported runway
- One ground-running gantry leg
- Working-area coverage coordinated with the production bay
- Runway elevation and ground rail aligned as one system
- Indoor, covered or outdoor configuration where suitable
SYSTEM AND TECHNICAL CONFIGURATION
Engineering the Elevated and Ground Runways as One Crane System
The following values are typical reference ranges. Final parameters depend on the building structure, ground runway, load, span, duty requirements and confirmed engineering design.
PROJECT PARAMETERS
- Rated Capacity: 1–20 t
- Crane Span: 5–20 m
- Lifting Height: 6–18 m / Custom
- Runway Length: Confirmed from the site layout
- Elevated Runway Level: Project-specific
- Duty Classification: Application-based
- Hoisting System: Wire Rope Hoist
- Power Supply: 380–440 V, 50/60 Hz, 3-phase
AVAILABLE CONFIGURATION OPTIONS
- Single-girder or project-specific bridge arrangement
- Pendant or radio remote control
- Dual-speed or variable-speed motions
- Travel and lifting limit functions
- Audible and visual warning options
- Elevated runway and building interface coordination
- Ground rail and foundation interface coordination
- Indoor or outdoor electrical configuration
Important building interface: The elevated runway elevation, supporting structure, allowable wheel loads and ground-rail level must be confirmed before the BM crane design is finalized.

CRANE CONFIGURATION SELECTION
Is a BM Semi-Gantry Crane Right for Your Project?
BM MAY BE SUITABLE WHEN:
- One suitable elevated runway or building support is available
- Ground-level support is preferred on the opposite side
- Lifting coverage is needed along a workshop edge or production bay
- A full two-leg gantry would use unnecessary floor space
- The elevated and ground runways can be accurately coordinated
CONSIDER ANOTHER CONFIGURATION WHEN:
- Two suitable elevated runways support a full overhead crane
- No suitable building support is available for the elevated side
- A full gantry crane better suits the independent working area
- Higher capacity requires a heavier double-girder configuration
- The floor cannot support the required ground runway or foundation
