ENGINEERING DECISION
When the Lifting Requirement Goes Beyond Standard Handling
A double-girder crane is considered when the project requires a robust bridge platform, higher-capacity configuration, longer span, improved hook coverage or more demanding operating performance.
The correct solution depends on more than rated capacity. Load geometry, lifting frequency, duty requirements, building conditions, runway details and lifting attachments should be reviewed together.
LOAD CAPACITY & ATTACHMENTS
Heavy, oversized or irregular loads may require a more robust
bridge platform and application-specific lifting attachments
such as beams, magnets, grabs or tongs.
LIFTING HEIGHT AND HEADROOM
A top-running trolley arrangement can help make better use of
the available building height and improve hook coverage,
subject to the final crane and runway configuration.
DEMANDING OPERATING DUTY
Lifting frequency, daily operating hours, travel distance and
production rhythm are reviewed when selecting the hoisting
system, drive configuration and duty classification.
